Research - Tzuri Gueta

Tzuri Gueta

A textile designer by training, Tzuri Gueta explores the most original materials, combining traditional techniques with creative daring. Every season he and his team work with Parisian Haute Couture houses to create original fabrics, jewelry and ornaments.

He uses his signature material, laces injected with silicone, to produce works from jewelry to large-scale interior decoration.

“Textile design is the field I was trained in, the field in which I allow myself to go beyond silicone-fed lace. Not only do I employ all the academic techniques available, I also use the most unexpected ideas.”

Gueta explored with the most unexpected material - silicon, and developed a technique that can use silicon to produce a gorgeous surface texture. As silicon is a non-metal material that can be easily shaped, also is quite stable and waterproof after it dries, which makes it become a perfect choice for creating affordable jewelry. While the technique of making silicon into a gorgeous jewelry is quite time-consuming and need labour with handicraft skill, these make the textiles & jewelry produced by Gueta into luxury products.
